F 50.0

Alisa Zhuk

Age:
17
From:
Poznań, Poland, originally from Minsk, Belarus.

F50.0 is a deeply personal work about anorexia nervosa, told through the image of a forest journey. The work follows a path that can lead deeper into the forest or, eventually, out of it.Trees appear diseased, paths become uncertain, and small disturbances begin to emerge within the landscape. Alongside these images are traces of Alisa's own behavior during the illness, allowing the internal experience to enter the physical world. At the center of the work is an inner voice shaped by anorexia. It feels as though it comes from somewhere outside, while being the words of the illness. It speaks gently. It praises, reassures, and offers a sense of care while leading further into the forest. The work explores the moment when the voice of illness starts to sound like your own voice, and when following it can feel like a choice instead of losing control. It asks why people keep going toward something that hurts them, and wonders what makes it possible to recognize the voice and choose a different direction.
