Double Exposure - Porta 160, Lomo Berlin

I was photographing houses again. This is already the third course where I keep returning to them, and I feel like I’m getting more and more attached. It all started with color film — I bought flowers for my mom for March 8th and decided to take some pictures. And then it just took off: I photographed my cat, a friend, random streets. But I always come back to the houses — they feel almost alive to me.

I really enjoyed working with double exposure. I layered a house with a theater, a car with an ATB sign, a dog with trees — sometimes the results were completely accidental, and sometimes they felt intentional. One of my favorite shots is of a goat and a train. It might not seem like much, but the contrast — the calm goat and the fast train — made me feel something important.

I also tried photographing people — the ones close to me. Not everything worked out, but I still want to keep going. I also like when it turns out abstract: grainy, shot up close, almost unrecognizable. One frame even looked like a UFO. I love when an image is not entirely explainable, when you have to really look at it. And even if not every photo is perfect, there's atmosphere in them — and that matters more to me.
