Do you want to try seeing the world through a director’s eyes?
KiNO invites Ukrainian teenagers, as well as teenagers who have been forced to leave their homes because of the war, aged 14 to 20, to join an online filmmaking course.
During the course, we will talk about what makes cinema different from TikTok and why personal experience is so important when creating a story. We will explore how music can completely change the meaning of what is happening on screen and what you can do if you want to continue developing in a creative profession. We will discuss what matters most in cinema — the script, striking images, or emotions — and much more.
What will you learn?
📽 How to see the world through a filmmaker’s eyes, “find” a shot, and learn the basics of composition.
💬 The main stages of filmmaking, from developing an idea and creating a storyboard to filming and editing.
🎧 How to work with sound.
🎬 The basic principles of editing and how to use accessible editing software.
🎥 And, of course, you will make your first short film!
The course will last seven weeks. At the end of the course, each participant will have the opportunity to present their film at an online screening.
📍The course will be conducted online in Russian.
✨ Participation is free.
🗓The course starts on 19 September.
🕒 Classes will take place on Saturdays from 12:00 to 13:30 Kyiv time.
An online screening of the final films will take place on 7 November.
