How to Tell Stories and Express Yourself with AI

Until recently, making a film required a large budget, a professional crew, and complex equipment.
Today, in the era of AI, a film can be created by a single author.

However, new technological possibilities also bring a new challenge: the author now has to think simultaneously as a screenwriter, director, cinematographer, sound designer, composer, and editor.

In this course, we will learn how to combine these roles and use AI as a full-fledged tool for author-driven cinema. During the course, participants will create their own short films, going through all stages of production — from the initial idea to the final edit.

Course outcome:
Creation of an original short film up to 1 minute long using AI.

The course is designed for students who already have basic experience with AI and an interest in visual storytelling.

What Awaits You in the Course

The course is taught by two instructors:
Victor Kislov — AI directing
Larisa Kremneva — dramaturgy

In the first part of the course, participants will practice observing life and their own inner experiences, translating these impressions into digital form. We will work with short formats and storytelling, paying special attention to script thinking and writing scripts specifically for AI films.

In the second part, we will focus on creating personal films, dive deeper into AI tools, and acquire new technical skills necessary for independent short film production.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of the course, you will:

  • create a finished short film;
  • learn to work with AI consciously — as a creative instrument rather than an effects generator;
  • master the balance between visuals and meaning, from the first idea to the final form;
  • gain skills applicable in cinema, photography, art projects, media, AI production, and commercial work;
  • develop your own visual voice.

This course is a space for exploration, freedom, and growth. We are not aiming for a “perfect shot,” but for an honest, living story that can only be created by you.
